Talk To Me
è un brano interessante, originale ed aggressivo. Caratterizzato da un
riff semplice ma accattivante, che si fa sentire nell'introduzione e
ritorna a conclusione di alcuni versi, il brano non è un esempio di
eccellente musicalità ma, come detto, si lascia ascoltare con un certo
interesse.
Lo schema
compositivo è preciso quanto prevedibile; Talk To Me si può dividere
esattamente in tre gruppi, ognuno dei quali è formato da due versi cantati
in maniera tranquilla, quasi timida, quattro versi "doppi", ovvero con una
pausa nel mezzo, più aggressivi, che fungono da "rincorsa" verso il
ritornello. Tra il secondo e l'ultimo gruppo di versi, non più di quindici
secondi sono affidati ad un assolo che sa molto di improvvisazione.
Non si sa molto
su questa canzone; sembra che Courtney Love, dopo la morte di Cobain, abbia
dato questa canzone a Iggy Pop affinché potesse suonarla.
Il brano è
stato eseguito dal vivo in sole tre occasioni, tutte nel novembre 1991.
Secondo
indiscrezioni mai confermate ufficialmente, Talk To Me potrebbe anche
essere stata registrata in studio, probabilmente all'inizio del 1994.
