Who Sold The World è stato uno dei più grandi successi di David Bowie,
pubblicato nell'album The Man Who Sold The World del 1971.
La versione
di Bowie era più "sospirata" ma meno slegata di quella dei Nirvana, la cui
interpretazione lasciò perplessa una parte del pubblico.
La cover
fatta da Cobain e soci nell'MTV Unplugged In New York (disponibile anche
sul CD Nirvana) è comunque ben riuscita, dal momento che, pur essendo
molto vicina all'originale, non ne costituisce una mera imitazione.
Dopo
l'esecuzione unplugged (la prima in assoluto), i Nirvana hanno eseguito spesso
la canzone durante i successivi concerti.
